Springdel MDM: Frontend performance at scale
Four years on the frontend of a mobile device management platform used by 10 business clients across 100,000 devices.
What I did
- Up to 10x faster file upload and download from remote devices in the WebRTC-based File Explorer
- Webpack → Vite migration: dev start-up 30s → ~10s, hot reload ~20s → ~5s, production build 4–5 min → 1–2 min
- React Router v7 with lazy-loaded routes, cutting bundle size and time to interactive
- Played a lead role in the device search feature, praised by our largest clients
- Brought TypeScript, Tailwind and shadcn/ui with custom components into a legacy JavaScript codebase
- Automated sync of ~6,000 lines of localization files with the Claude SDK and agentic workflows
- Peer code reviews and cross-browser testing
